Tonight, we nominated next year's officers for CNU FC. Although I
didn't make it to the meeting, I read of the nominees, and I feel as if
they are all phenomenal choices. Being both a secretary and president
already, I can safely say that it is not an easy job, but it is the
most rewarding experience that you could ask for in your young life.
Regardless of the outcome of elections, I am sure that CNU FC will be
in good hands.

PICKUP Schedule:

Tuesday 5pm-7pm(Rainy, 60's, and awesome)
Thursday 3pm-5pm(Sunny High 77)
Friday 4pm-Sunset(Sunny High 73)

CNU FC Senior Game/Cookout:

May 3rd, I'm going to try and schedule a home game against Premier
Soccer, graduating seniors(who have paid dues)are guaranteed to play,
but underclassmen(who have paid dues) will get their chance to play as
well. Anyone who has paid their dues this year will be eligible to
play. This will be our one last hurrah, and I know it will be a good
one. Keep tuned in for details.

Afterwards, we will have a team cookout at Mariner Museum Park(In case
of inclement weather, we'll have it at my house). There, we can wish
the new officers luck, say goodbye to the graduating seniors, and have
a good time in general before exams. If you have a barbeque grill or
anything to contribute to the cookout, please let me know.

We played 3 games this weekend and came out with a tie and two losses.
We played some really good teams and showed we could be competitive in
the region.

The first game against ECU was a 3-3 tie. Shawn Van Decker netted two
goals and Will got the third. ECU had to come back to tie on a
controversial penalty but overall, we played very well. Last time we
played ECU, we lost 5-0 so to come back and almost beat the same team
we played earlier this year shows CNUFC can play against the bigger
schools.

The second game against UNC was a 2-0 loss. UNC is a huge school with a
great soccer program. Even though it was a loss, its still helpful to
play against teams like this so we can see how we match up with
regional competition.

The last game on Sunday against local rivals ODU was a 2-1 loss. Will
got the goal late in the game and we couldn't generate another before
the game ended. Games against ODU are always fun and go back and forth
with us winning a few and ODU winning a few.

Overall, the team played well this weekend. A few injuries early on
left us a little exhausted towards the end and theres nothing you can
do about that when you play three games in one weekend. Its great we
are able to make these tournaments and compete with other teams in the
area. Its all suppose to be fun and I think everyone that made the trip
had a good time.

We want to have a big game friday afternoon. We want big goals and full side squads, 11v11. Everyone come out to this. Important! BRING SHIN GUARDS!!!! To replicate actual game play, it is good to play in pads so bring em.

We want to be as ready and as pumped as we can before we go to ECU so show up and have good practice. Be serious about it too. Play smart and have fun. See you guys out there.

-We are going to ECU for a tournament the weekend of February 23rd and
24th. Thats a little over two weeks from now. We'll probably bring like
20 guys and stay in a hotel just like last year. Stay tuned for more
updates.

-That being said, we're going to start practices next week and it will
be as follows:

Tuesdays - 12-2
Wednesdays - 12-2
Weekend Pickups - TBD

We will see how this practice schedule works for everyone right now and
make changes if necessary.

-Expect to see a fundraising event sometime in the future as Andy and I
are going to set up an event at Fuddruckers.

The Spring semester will see less action than last semester. We won't
have games every weekend and we're going to have more home games. This
means less stress and fewer practices, however, we still encourage
everyone to make it out as much as possible. We want everyone to finish
up the school year well but also want to see some commitment to the
club team.

If you want input in the club's activities, this is the time. It is
STRONGLY RECOMMENDED you attend this meeting because everyone's input
is crucial to the outcome of the club. We want to accommodate
everyone's schedule as much as possible.
